I am old enough to remember when Hang On Sloopy was a hit in the mid-sixties. It was played on the radio constantly and all the kids danced to it. But it wasn't until Derringer did the update that you appeared on the scene. Funny thing was music video did not become in vogue till 1980. By that time I was B-52 aircrew pulling alert every 14 days. We watched a lot of TV in the alert facility lounge in those days waiting to launch our precious behinds in the wild blue to fight WWIII. VH1 and MTV were on the TV during the day. I can tell you when Derringer's update finally got to the music video stations, your dancing sure got the attention of all the ground and aircrew sitting in the lounge. That video still puts a smile on my face to this day. I am glad you finally got the credit for your dancing efforts. You are a sweetheart!

I just have to say, watching your dancing as Sloopy Girl, brought back so many memories of the 70's and 80's. Your dance style was/is just like mine years ago. Aging bones and declining health has made it hard to dance as loose and free as I once enjoyed. Love ya, Lisa. Keep on moving that body. XOXO

Lisa, I'm 75 and you and my own original Sloopy girl, who I married, are still beautiful and we're still going strong.

Thank you Lisa for not having your face mutilated by surgeons. You are still beautiful and as a 60 year old Englishman I remember Sloopy like it was yesterday. Only people of our generation understand how amazing life was back then. โœŒ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

I don't know if you remember Lisa, but I was the one who pushed for you to be given the pop culture credit you deserve. You once told me online of how you won a dance contest at Gazzari's to get the Sloopy gig. I read two of your posts but as an ex- Canadian federal officer, I knew you were telling the truth. The gentleman who interviewed you initially got his information from me and went on to create the video and, once and for all, stopped all the nonsense of Liz Brewer being Sloopy. You are the greatest and only, Sloopy - a cultural icon from a great age. You made 40 million viewers reminisce, smile, and drool over your video. I am a best selling author and will be devoting a small chapter about you and how you came to the fore in my next book due in 2024-25. Best in the future Lisa to you and yours.
