I understand why you start with yourself but when I do and put it with great grandparents I find it backwards. I have a tendency in thinking that it should be great or grandparents first on the pedigree chart. When doing the pedigree charts, do you do a chart for every generation or every person in each generation?

I’m currently studying an online genealogy course that indicates if someone has multiple marriages to create a FGS for each marriage. Where do you put the children who were born out of wedlock? Are they just listed as the step children of the person the parent married?
