How to make a pen from a feather.

Writing with a pen is very different than writing with a keyboard, and writing with a quill even more so. It's good for your brain, and good for your prose. It makes your letters more beautiful and your thoughts clearer.

Note that there were no 4-inch-thick fantasy novels until the typewriter was invented.

For those in the US, please be careful when collecting feathers. Many many birds are protected under the Migratory Bird Act and having their feathers is illegal, so always double check a feather ID before taking it home.
