As someone who gets sick a lot, not being able to get up to grab a tissue would be torture

The teacher who ran detention was actually really cool but he didn't like letting my class go to the bathroom bc one guy just wandered around the school apparently looking for his wallet. Well the next day, I started my period. He said no. I said, "Yea, I'm bleeding out of my vagina and I'm going. I was asking out of respect." I didn't get detention out of pure shock. The only unfortunate thing was my friend, who i had liked for a year, was in that class, but he was cool about it.

Couldn't stay seated and pay attention in grade school. Teachers kept telling my parents it was obvious i had adhd and parents agreed but i still got detention regularly. Teacher in charge of detention was chill though and would let me do personal arts and crafts cuz I'd make myself paper charm bracelets with office supplies during detention. As i got older, i got told i wasn't allowed but she was still chill with me reading, whichi was addicted to so that was cool. I had a tendency to forget the time and she usually needed to remind me the period was over and sent me back to class. She may have been in charge od the punishment room, but she was pretty chill.

that dumbass 'nobody can go to the bathroom at the same time' rule that we had at my school. i had chronic anxiety and now my mom revealed to me that the doctor who diagnosed me with CHRONIC KIDNEY INFECTIONS said i could expect to have kidney problems later in life. needless to say i was homeschooled for the rest of my school time

I'm the asshole that as soon as I heard the rule would have scooted my chair, or if it was attached to the desk, the whole desk around the classroom, when told to go back to my seat I would have looked down. Yes I would have gotten detention, but stupid rules deserve stupid compliance.

So there was this rule for my Sunday school where only actors, or tech crews for plays were allowed to go in the back storage area or backstage (like with every other school). The thing is you didn’t need to have a reason to go and no one would ever ask why, so after every practice I would just stay in the backstage area, well I used to until some of the other actors who were kids close to my age started to invite their friends so that they could start going backstage too. Well after some kid had broken a plastic Roman soldier hat is when they realized they couldn’t trust people anymore. so now you now have to ask if you want go to the storage closet and say why you are going there and what you want from there.

Long story short don’t trust children or teens with going backstage.

I had a teacher who hated it anytime someone stood up early to leave

One day the class stood to leave cuz the bell was going off in literally 10 seconds and everyone but like 3 people got yelled at then got detention

A bunch of parents complained so everyone got out of it but goddamn she was a nightmare

8th grade I had a jackass for a homeroom teacher. He was new and the thought being the tough guy with a quick detention slip would keep everyone in line.

I would leave homeroom with 2-3 detentions for the day just about every day. I wouldn't go to them which got me more detentions. When they finally caught up with me I had 368 detentions. He asked me why I had so many and I told him I had no respect for the homeroom teacher. It had become a joke. He asked if I respected him and I said yes. We had a conversation about a few things then he said he was running detention that day and asked if I would come that day. I agreed and showed up, on time even. I quietly did my homework and sat for the 45 minutes. After, as I was walking out he said "Don't worry about the rest of them. We're good." The next day when I tried to get more detentions out of the homeroom teacher he said "I'm not giving you anymore because you won't go to them and nobody will force you to - so you win." And just like that I stopped being a royal pain in the a** to the homeroom teacher.

I'm pretty sure if I pulled that today they'd arrest me...

I grow up in the Balkans, no rules, just pranks .
My favourite one was to put chili around the toilet sets and in the toilet paper after the janitor's clear up and wait to see the reactions of anyone.

He’d have an awful time with my IEP. I’m allowed to leave my desk and sit in alternative places and walk in the back of the class if I’m overstimulated. I also have what’s basically a permanent hall pass where I’m allowed to leave and go find my EA when I need her help to settle my brain before I can go back. This teacher is bullshit.

Note that if I’m actively pacing then they usually get my EA, because it becomes disruptive to the other students and I’m probably not in a good place to be in class anyway. If the teachers notice that I’m pacing or “flapping” excessively then they call her or one of the other EAs who can remove me and calm me down. When I’m in that state I’m incapable of recognising it myself and don’t react well to touch or “strangers”, which is what my “autism brain” sees teachers as. My EAs I can recognise because they’re active members of the staff who know exactly how to “handle” me and they don’t blame me for what I can’t control.

used to work for a satellite company. and one day they came up with a stupid rule on tattoos and piercings. saying they had to be covered with ace bandages or "flesh colored" band aids. now being a large black man i said that's offensive. rule was changed. the next one they said we had to wear button up shirts with collar. so i walked in with my dress shirt and my leather spiked bdsm collar. they yelled at me till i said it's in the new rules "button up shirt with collar" that rule was changed as well.

Ahh, but students don’t realize that teachers wait as eagerly for the lesson to be over as their students.. or do you seriously think they’d rather explain something for the 100th time instead of chilling and watching Netflix ?

Had a 6th grade teacher that hated boys. She had a rule that everyone had to stay in their seats unless they had permission to get up (sharpening pencils, throwing thrash away, or even getting something out of your backpack which she made us keep on the other side of the room were impossible. She would say "you should have been prepared before we started"). But she would only enforce this at all on the boys. The girls would get up all the time and she wouldn't say anything.

I was feeling super sick one day and asked to go to the nurse. She refused and said I was faking it. After sitting for a few more minutes I knew I was going to throw up so I got up and rushed over to the trashcan. She started yelling at me to sit down and I would get a detention and bla bla bla. Until I actually threw up. Then she started freaking out because "that's gross, why wouldn't you go to the nurse" and other kids started getting sick because of seeing it and the smell.

She also tried to tell me to take the trash bag out and take it with me when I went to the nurse so they didn't have to see or smell it.

That was a fun phone call she had with my mom after my mom heard the full story.

For some reason this reminds me of how stalin died basically nobody was allowed into his room not even his bodyguards without permission anyone who did was executed so when Stalin had a stroke and died his guards who were right outside the door didn't run in to save him
