GTA 5 is playing smooth on medium setting on my laptop when i first bought the game, after 7 months i think, geez! lag! i didnt change any of the settings..

The game ran fine for me a few months ago, then i uninstalled it for a while. Last week i got back into it, and well. It constantly shows 70fps but it feels like 30 at most. Also checked driver updates and windows updates. Also since i started playing with a friend yesterday, i also have a ton of lag as in internet connection.

i actually think my game is broken because i have a gtx1060 i5 processor and 8gb of ram and my nvidia is suggesting i play on very high on gta, but i lag on normal and have fps lag, and it shouldn't be lagging in the slightest but i cant even run it on the lowest settings. Any help ?
