How to crochet potholders for beginners [Waffle Stitch] thermal stitch

In this Crochetvibe crochet tutorial I show You how to crochet potholders for beginners in a waffle stitch.
Potholders for beginners is a easy place to start and You even get to do the waffle stitch.
So yarn up :-) and start crochet these pot holders.

I crochet with 2 strands of yarn together to make them ekstra thick, but You can just use a thicher yarn, ex 8/8.
The finished potholders measure 18 cm on each side.

They are perfect for a homemade present or idea for your own kitchen.

Supplies:
- 100% Cotton yarn - apx 50g pr potholder
Crochet hook
- A Tapestry needle
- Scissors

I made this one and the tutorial is awesome. I used 8/8 cotton yarn, but it’s not usable coz the heat is coming through it in less than 5 minutes so can’t take something out of the oven with it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm assuming these are UK terms, because it looks like a triple crochet in u.s. terms

Ah i finally figured out what’s wrong: u seem to unknowingly switch between double- and triple crocheting but call them all double crocheting!

With the 42 initial chains you’re triple crocheting. Later you‘re mostly double crocheting.
