Marit Stiles says 'fantasy tunnel' shows the Doug Ford is out of ideas

tunnel stretching the roughly 60 kilometres from Brampton to Scarborough would be among the longest in the world.

The premier said he realizes that the idea is "ambitious," but took aim at possible critics as naysayers.

"I know this is an ambitious idea and that some people will say it can't be done, or that we shouldn't even try, but these are the same people who oppose every project, no matter if it's expansion of Highway 413, the Bradford Bypass, doubling the size of our subway. It's no, no, no. Every proposal to get people out of gridlock and get our province moving, they say no."

In particular he lashed out at Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie, who took aim at Ford in a speech of her own over the weekend.

I really do appreciate the compassion for ODSP recipients. Not even the liberals want to take care of us properly, we’re swept under the rug and a footnote in anyone’s agenda, and advocating for our rights and fair treatment is extremely exhausting.
I can’t work because I can’t afford rent and I can’t afford food and I seriously consider if trudeau’s eugenics program (maid) is a better option for me than going on year after year in extreme poverty and stress brought on by systemic negligence.

I am conservative by belief and affilitation but Marit is 100% right, Doug ford is delusinal in general and so I believe the tunnel is a poor idea.

Try having knee implant that is defective and having crones, epilepsy and heart issues, put on emerg surgery list as implant about to break through the skin and will have to recover in a tent or small two person trailer with no heat!! The solution to gridlock on the 401 is a true regional rail network. The GO train is a good first step, but it's too focused on downtown Toronto. We need to have lateral train lines, like from Markham to Oshawa, or from Brampton to Guelph, or Hamilton to Kitchener. There should be a full scale regional train station at Person. Union Station should not be the only nexus point.
