How does the solar eclipse occur, what are the types of solar eclipses and why do we see them at particular times of the year? Why is the path of totality so narrow and why does the eclipse shadow move from West to East with the rotation of the earth?

This is one of the topics extremely avoided by flerfs.

I liked this video. I like learning about science stuff. That was awesome. Eclipses are another thing that prove the globe earth. Thank you, Bob. You're awesome. God bless.
Happy Good Friday.

It's been ages since I've seen a total solar eclipse. Seeing totality indelibly sears itself onto your mind. When looked at through an appropriately filtered telescope, it is one of the most impressionable things you will ever see.

Excellent education material. Not for flerfs but for school Kids who want to understand eclipses.

Since the flat brainer's brains only work in 2D..don't think they will understand all of these anyway..

Here in Sweden it is 10:00 am, a much more sensible time to watch this! 😁

I witnessed my first total solar eclipse in 2017. Let me say if you've never experienced one, go try to see one. While pictures and videos are nice, seeing it actually happen was one of the most awesome experiences of my life. While your brain knows what is happening, seeing the sun go dark in the middle of the day and seeing the corona around a completely black disk just triggers something primal.

Si-DE-re-al, so to say.
Can't watch the Oakley thumping enough!

Actually, at a partial eclipse it does get darker, but your eyes adapt so well to a large range of intensities, that you won’t notice it.

Nice explanation. This is much better than the trap of the constantly debunking debunks of debunks some other (otherwise good) channels have fallen into. Good job, Dr. Bob!

Astronomy. FE Kryptonite.
Just any of them to explain in any FE scenario how the August 2017 eclipse went from Oregon to SC in just over two hours.

Hate to say it Bob but at 7:20 you mentioned the moon will cover the “disc” of the sun. I suspect some certain individuals will take that completely out of context.

Thanks, very succinct and clearly explained with many differing aspects to one small but significant aspect of our system. Where's the flerfer explanation? Very silent. Enjoyed the video very much.

I saw Saturn with my own eyes next to the moon last night. It was almost the brightest thing in the sky. Magnificent

If you've never seen a total solar eclipse, you need to. I packed up the famn damily and traveled to observe the 2017 eclipse and stood in utter awe when it achieved totality; it was definitely worth the trip. I also had the good fortune to witness an annular eclipse near sunset, and that was pretty impressive.
