Hey Everyone! I probably wasn't clear enough in the video. Carbon dust can be dangerous so PLEASE cut your arrows in a ventilated area and wear a dust mask as well as other protective equipment like safety glasses.

This is much better than the Harbor Freight chop saw that seems so popular on here to cut arrows. The reason is that rotating the arrow as you do acts like a lathe and ensures a square cut even if your components are slightly off square. With the chop saw, you must have everything lined up perfectly. Perfectly enough to get great arrow flight is almost impossible for most folks with wood and hand tools using a cheap item from a bargain store. The spinning is what corrects for all of those issues.

I have the extended attachment for my Dremel and have never used it for anything, this looks like a fine application. Will build.

Ok, going to attempt to cut my own arrows this weekend and will likely be building my own version of the arrow saw. Thanks for the great video!

The reason you want to cut your arrows are to 1. Tune your arrow 2. Stiffen your spine to shoot a heavier tip 3. A shorter arrow will have a higher FOC - front of center for more penetration

A cool idea since youre good with wood work would be your back plate (where your nock butts up against) is to cut a hole in it and a piece of bow string so it would fit the knock valley. Would allow you to get exact measurements with a string. Cool setup man!

Ok so...I shoot only recurves. My uncut arrows sit 2 inches past the riser (I wear a 35 shirt sleeve). Shooting from 25 yards, to me seems fine. What do you think?

How long is the overall? Would you mind taking a picture of the bottom side? I am wanting to make this just like you did. Thanks.

Any one happen to know if a tubing cutter will work? Or does that just crush the carbon arrow?
