JD, I believe you touched on an intangible that a lot of the national pundits are missing relative to Bama. Last year's team was a dumpster fire for the first 3-4 games. They didn't panic, but dug in and trusted each other, overcame repeated adversities (4&31) and became a playoff team AND Beat UGA in the SEC championship that NO one saw coming. The core of this year's team is taking that experience into this season. Some positive early momentum and a healthy roster spells a VERY dangerous team. Oh did i say that on the whole, the coaching staff is miles ahead of last years staff in terms of knowing what they want, depth of expertise on the staff with a leader coached in a national championship last year. Form the GOAT to a guy who's a top 5 coach in the nation. Pretty Good....

Tennessee fan here guys. And let me just say what someone outside the Bama fanbase timing timing. Deboer was the absolute best hire you could have pulled out the hat. I cant believe so many analysts are omiting the fact he beat a superior texas team with washington. And now everyone is picking that same texas team and coach to win the SEC?!? Nah, way i see it, you guys ate still the prize victory every team wants #1this year

To the doubters, DeBeor has three NAIA National Championships in five seasons as a head coach. He beat Oregon twice last year and beat Texas with lesser talent. Why do you think it's not going to happen in Tuscaloosa.

Saban just left a #1 and #2 mostly full of 4 and 5 star defensive backs, lmao people are sound asleep on what bama has on defense wait until this young group gets going, and Womack said himself Saban helps out with them, you fools better open your eyes

We're not going anywhere, fact!!! Deboer can flat out coach, and he assembled one of the best coaching staff in college football.

We all know the areas of weakness/uncertainty on this 2024 Alabama team: (1) secondary; (2) wide receiver; (3) Milroe (speed of decision making, intermediate range passing); (4) Grubb no longer available to call plays. We’ll see what Alabama has on 9/28.

Finally someone said what I've been saying all along. Saban never took a snap or caught a pass. Yes coaching is a key piece but it won't do crap without the horses to run the race.

Alabama just reloads and moves on, that is how Alabama does things!

Saban had something called adaptability, at every halftime that man could adapt to any game and can come back just about at any deficit, that I have ever seen him be under. The man was a Football Genius and a defensive Mastermind. He will forever be missed at Alabama!

We're a few weeks away from finding out whether Deboer does something he hasn't consistently so far in his career - lose. I wouldn't bet on it, and think Bama probably made as realistically good of a hire as you can to follow Saban.

They only have 4 possible losses on their schedule. Doesn't mean they will lose them, just 4 tough games against UGA at home and then 3 away games against Tennessee, LSU and Oklahoma. I expect them to win 8+ Deboers first season which was better than Nick's first season. So all we can do is wait and see but wish them nothing but luck. Still gonna be a tough Bama team. Deboer just have very little FBS experience and no SEC experience. Im curious to see what he does from a coaching standpoint.

Nick Sanan did throw a lot of headsets

They didn't look like much of a force for the first three quarters of yesterday's game.

Thank goodness we have a good snapper this season, go back a watch how many snaps were terrible last season, Milroe couldn’t be comfortable because of the damn snaps, Center cost the NC last season and should had been removed after the first game 5 to 10 bad snaps

We’ll see. Alabama hasn’t been Alabama a while in my opinion. Year we were close. We lost 4 games the last two years. Last year we overachieved considering we had the worst Center play over a course year f a season that’s I’ve seen as a die hard football the last 20 years. 3 of those games we lost on the last play which is absurd. But the Bama I know in the Saban era would’ve only been in 2 games that close over the last 2 years 😂. Are we still a high level program? I think so I can we are in the boat with Texas Ohio Georgia State Oregon you can throw a few others. But in the boat isn’t the same as being the end all be all. That’s Georgia to win a championship you got beat Georgia at some point in the season unless Alabama beats them for you. Until proven otherwise nobody can beat them.

Can yall stop pushing this narrative asking questions like this. Like obv bama is still bama this is a player led game and the players are still elite. Plus u have a coach that made it to the nattty at mf washington I'm an ole miss fan so my bias swings the opposite direction. Bama is 1, 2, 3, 4 next year. Tbh they might be better bc lately sabans hires weren't all that great
