COVID-19's Impact on People Around the World

The UN Foundation supports a network of young people around the world working on the Sustainable Development Goals. We wanted to hear their stories. From Spain, to Nepal, to the Philippines, they told us how COVID-19 is impacting their daily lives.

I saved my neighbor from a camper fire and saved his life. Then my camper in my dad's backyard I was living in for 3 years got into a fire that nearly took my life. I was homeless then got put in an adult foster home. I grew up in mexico as a child with my mom/2 older ...in an adobe mudbrick dried out socorro cactus small house when I was a kid while my dad was stationed in Germany. I grew up in the ghetto also in Phoenix Arizona and Blythe California when I was a kid. When I turned 16 I moved to Nyssa Oregon where I was born. I was born deaf at five years old they finally took the tubes outta my ears...now I hear allmost clear. Then my mom died in the house my dad now owns that my grandma gave to my mom. My mom died in my arms a day I barely got home from working at Dickensons Frozen Food and could not work due to mental traumatization of her death in my arms. Now I suffer depression and anxiety and PTSD. I've had a hard life.
