Some experts say the war in Ukraine won't be won on the battlefield. Here's what that means.

Western officials said a surge in troops and firepower was underway in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia province, and Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged Thursday that “hostilities have intensified significantly.” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, asked this week about the progress Ukraine has made, stressed that "it's not a stalemate. They're not just frozen. The Ukrainians are moving."

Some experts, however, say a stalemate is the most likely scenario.

Laughable. The only expert we're seeing in this clip is a journalist. Journalists have said things like: "We cant tell if they'll invade." "They'll have Kyiv in three days." "This is a redo of the 1st World War." "Bombing civilian infrastructure has no military significance." "Bakhmut has no military significance." ... and so on. The Russians have taken most of Ukraine's oil and gas resources and that alone is something neither side will give up without a fight. Given Burisma's involvement with Crimea and Soviet leaning Oligarchs I can see why some in our current power/media structure might prefer to negotiate away Crimea and leave that stone unturned, but the Ukrainians have said that's not on the table. I can see why. And the Ukrainians remember life under Russians. In occupied territories, after a year and a half, the Russians are running into a lot of obstacles russifying the population. Some obvious, some not. Admittedly, this war does not progress at the speed of journalism, but the speed of journalism is not relevant to the real world.

Not a stalemate. This war is being fought on many fronts. Military, economic and political.
Ukraine is winning on the military and economic front but Russia is winning the propaganda war with its people.
Ultimately the longer this war drags on the better it will be for Ukraine as Russia will become so weak and its people so dellusioned that it will have to give up.
This will be the best outcome for the future although it may take time, which is something Russia does not have.

The problem with the offensive by Ukraine has been the blowing of the dam, and flooding southern Ukraine. This has been Russia's only positive strategic move, as it meant the offensive had to be in the northern portion of Russian held Ukraine. Tanks cannot slog it through a swamp. But the big development about the war, is how something as small as a drone can prove effective in combat. A new nemesis for tanks and other military vehicles. All of these idiotic experts that you're referring to, probably just need to spend more time playing their video games. Ukraine is advancing almost everywhere on the battlefield. Ukraine has fighting spirit that will not falter. Munitions are coming faster and in greater volume.

Russian morale is extremely brittle and Russian support for the war will break after Ukraine makes a few sizable gains. Ukraine definitely has an advantage on being able to out suffer Russia. Ukraine will never give up.
