Показать описание
During our Pre-Symposium Panel today, Dustin Laycock, Dr. Lauren B. Jones DNP, MBA, RN, CNE, NPD-BC, NE-BC, CNML, Navin Jagannath, and I discussed how to help employees effectively balance strategic work with tactical work.
Here are some points we discussed in our panel today:
How to clearly articulate goals to team members
How to develop and enact communication norms
How to communicate to team members that a process is being developed that will solve the challenge they are facing (but it isn't ready yet)
How to handle a scenario when you have a team member that isn't interested in getting promoted
What the difference between autonomy and ownership is
How to communicate difficult news to a team member or direct report and how to minimize surprises
How to give regular coaching and feedback to team members
How to determine the urgency (and a process around it) for when communicating with team members
How to have effective 1:1's
Why allowing for 5 minutes to process a conversation (after the conversation) is critical to making sure the conversation is fully digested
