Malhun Hatun, the historical mother of Orhan Gazi, played a crucial role in the early Ottoman state. If the writers respect history, they should focus on her and Orhan’s rise rather than unnecessary fictional drama.

Right now, the way they are portraying Orhan Gazi is completely opposite to reality. Historically, Orhan was a strong, strategic leader who expanded the Ottoman lands significantly, established the first Ottoman coins, and built a proper state structure. Instead, the show makes him seem weak, emotional, and hesitant—nothing like the future ruler who conquered Bursa and made it the Ottoman capital.

If the writers actually follow history, they should show:
✅ Orhan’s military campaigns, especially the Battle of Pelekanon (1329) against the Byzantines.
✅ His strong leadership, building on Osman’s legacy instead of being overshadowed.
✅ The role of Malhun Hatun in shaping his character and ensuring his right to the throne.
✅ The conquest of Bursa in 1326, one of the most significant moments in Ottoman history.

Right now, the series feels more like a historical fantasy drama rather than a true depiction of the Ottoman Empire’s foundation. Hopefully, they realize this and shift back to real history, because Orhan Gazi deserves to be shown as the great leader he truly was.
