Glad to see people picking up on this :) Saor is actually a one man band project from Scotland (I think Glasgow) headed up by Andy Marshall. All the compositions are done by him, but when it comes to recording he gets help with orchestral elements and drumming I believe. This is the last track in the upcoming 6 track album coming out on June 24th, and it's his 5th release - all the others were bangers, in particular Aura where Andy somehow managed to collaborate with none other than Austin Lunn, the OTHER one man band black metal project from Minnesota.

Of particular note - this is pagan metal. It's black metal fused with Scottish and Celtic folk music, which is why it sounds good for marching, triumphant, hopeful and melodic and hence uses a lot of major keys. Surprised you didn't notice the bagpipes in the major section at the end! Saor itself is a Gaelic word, it's pronounciation is somewhere between "sour" and "sewer" but not quite. It basically translates to "free", as in saor Alba (free Scotland).
