Why Korea’s Iconic Activist Was Buried Among 28,000 Cremated Bodies

Today, I took a deep dive into the neighborhood of Mang-u dong in Jungnang-gu and uncovered some mind-blowing history. Historian Jihoon guided me through Mang-u History and Culture Park, where we explored the graves of several prominent figures, including Koreans and Japanese, and uncovered the chilling mystery of the 28,000 cremated graves from Itaewon. We also talked about Yu Gwan-sun and a legendary story involving King Taejo, the founder of the Joseon Dynasty. But that's not all—I also wandered through Ulim Market and checked out the famous Tteokbokki Village. Trust me, you'll want to sit down for this one—the cemetery alone will leave you speechless.
