Lyrics:...Sometimes I feel
Like I don't have a partner
Sometimes I feel
Like my only friend
Is the city I live in
The city of Angels
Lonely as I am
Together we cry

I drive on her streets
'Cause she's my companion
I walk through her hills
'Cause she knows who I am
She sees my good deeds and
She kisses me windy and
I never worry
Now that is a lie

I don't ever wanna feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all the way
I don't ever want to feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all that way (yeah yeah yeah)

It's hard to believe
That there's nobody out there
It's hard to believe
That I'm all alone
At least I have her love
The city she loves me
Lonely as I am
Together we cry

I don't ever wanna feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all the way
I don't ever want to feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all the way (yeah yeah yeah)
Ooh no (no no yeah yeah)
Love me I say yeah yeah

Under the bridge downtown
Is where I drew some blood
Under the bridge "
I could not get enough
Under the bridge "
Forgot about my love
Under the bridge "
I gave my life away (yeah yeah yeah)
Ooh no (no no yeah yeah)
Here I stay yeah yeah
Here I stay...

My local radio DJ prefaced this song quite nicely, "If this next song doesnt hold a special place in your heart then you dont have a soul"

A timeless classic that means so much to so many people struggling with addiction. My demons, Heroin, Methadone and Xanax nearly killed me. I've been clean 5 years come November. This song reminds me of all the pain I had and caused while addicted. I listen to this song to remind me to never go back to that pain.

For all of you struggling with addiction, it starts with making one change, start with cutting out those people who enable you, then prepare yourself for something you thought was never possible, sobriety and happiness in your soul. The pain will never go away, it will take another form and enable you to see the truth that no matter how bad life is, it will never be worse than life on drugs. Good luck to you all and see you on the other side.

My high school football’s tradition was to sing this song every bus ride home after a win. Best feeling ever ! This song will forever have a part of me ...

"I don't ever wanna feel like I did that day"
I relate to this line, because I just battled a huge bout of anxiety a few months ago, for the third time, and I escaped from all the negative thoughts that haunted me while I suffered and endured it the first time. I knew I had to keep going, and I thank God every day for pulling me out of those dark times. My faith is stronger than ever because of it

I've never been addicted to heroin (or any other drug), but this song makes me feel sad for the people who have been/ still are. 😢

I have always loved this song, had no idea it was about his dealing with his heroin addiction. My dad is a heroin addict 13 years in I pray everyday that he makes it out on the other side.

1 week clean no heroine no methadone. Got locked up and detoxed totally for the first time in 10 years. I'm apprehensive about the future and am afraid that I'm going to let everyone down...

As an addict who overcame withdrawals, I understand this song much more than when I first heard it.

I've always loved this song, since i was a kid and my older sister would play it in here car when picking me up from school in the 90's. But now I'm days away from living on the streets and I truly get it.
