I took my duck Apple Picking

I remember the first time I went apple picking
It’s of the first real memories with my father
Sitting in the car
Driving together
Talking about everything
Thinking about nothing

We drove for hours to get there
But the time went by so quick
Because we’d get lost in the adventure
He always knew the trick

Road-trips aren’t about destination
They’re about the getting there
Don’t need to cross the nation
You can road-trip anywhere

The laughs, the pitstops
The making up games
License plates or remembering
All the presidents names

The stories, the thought
I know that you care
We’re in the right spot
Its the time that we share

For whatever the cost
It might sound quite contrived
Take time to get lost
Only then we arrive

Anyway,
I wanted to make sure
Wrinkle’s first apple picking
Was the very best possible
So we gassed up the van
And headed out on an adventure
To a very nice family orchard
Where many families go every year

It always feels good to support
Small family businesses
Where they truly appreciate community
Unlike a heartless corporation

It’s such a shame that wrinkle couldn’t go into the orchard! She would have had a wonderful time, and those people were so unnecessarily rude especially the man with the son. He was was definitely not setting a good example for him.
I’m sure there’s an apple orchard out there waiting with a special invitation for Wrinkle!

Been a local customer of that orchard for 30+ years. That ended after I watched the treatment the staff gave you. No class. The real loser in this story is that young child watching and learning from his over-aggressive violent father.
