I mean one is a man, one is a devil. Maybe it's how he's a devil in disguise. Or maybe it's a comment on how our own faces show two different forms of us. Each side of our own face is different, few people are symmetrical. Some people really do look angelic on one side and evil on the other, if you just place a hand or object over the other side of the face you'll see it.
