Bushcraft: WOODCRAFT at CAMP - Saw, Axe, Knife, Mallet

With temperatures sitting around freezing, Canoe Builder and Outdoorsman, Jason Eke heads out to continue building the Bushcraft Camp.

Bushcraft: WOODCRAFT at the CAMP

The last time I was out to the camp I build a basic sawhorse to help me be more efficient with work. With a lot of woodcraft projects planned I decided to get started.

(not an affiliate link)

This is the eleventh in a series of bushcraft and wilderness survival skills or camping skills videos.

In the previous episodes I've scouted out the location and began to set up a semi-permanent shelter.

In the next video I continue to build the Bushcraft Camp, do more woodcrafting, tap a few Maple trees and have a guest to camp.

Please like and subscribe if you enjoy the video :) - Jason Eke

Cheers Jason! Well, I really like your hammer - Thor would be proud of it! It was good to see your saw horse in use again too - it looks like a comfortable working height. I really thought you were pouring brandy in your chilli, never heard of maple syrup in chilli either - Must be a Canadian thing! Hahaha!! Thanks for another thoroughly enjoyable video. Atb, Simon.

Hey Jason, the mallet ain't ugly. It's beautiful. I just made a short handled one just like it. I made sort of a Scotch Eyed Auger by welding a ring onto a chuck so I can change auger sizes if I need to. Works the same though.

Your mallet is great! Pretty doesn't equate to functional... nor vise versa. Let us know how it works out! ~Kitty

That looks like great chili. Just have a little thing over the fire pit and you could actually live there.

Really enjoying your shows Jason. Video quality is topnotch. And that mallet will come in handy. Keep up the great work!!

Great vid! Not so much talking. Hammer looks great! Function over form, eh? Shelter is what it needs to be. And always up for some "modification".
My wife thinks I may just use "hunting season" as my excuse to stay in the woods goofing off for several months of the year. I'm beginning to think she's onto something. Used to "bushcraft" a lot with a fishing rod and BB gun back when I was 12ish. Just didn't know what it was called back then. Hehehe.
Watch yer top knot! d;^)

You could always go back to your original idea of the A-frame once spring gets rolling.

Want to make a mallet with carved handle...trouble is, I'm not sure what log to start with. Did a small one out of a stick about 3" diameter, but it's already splitting! Oak? Pecan? Green? Seasoned? Help! LOL

Say Heah Jason, Yeah, you did good. I also have the Agawa Canyon 21 Boreal Saw, I also have a Gransfors Bruks S. F. A, But I like the compact size and weight of my Hultafors Bruks 17" Agdor Hatchet as my Bushcraft Hatchet which I have Axe Holder's for both, or I can carry them on the side of my Backpack. On a trip like your's in this video where there's a lot of snow, I prolly would of taken my Fallkniven A-1/H-1 in a side by side carry because of how the sheath's fit together, or atleast a stainless steel combo. But usually in cold weather and overnighter's, I luv my Ratmandu or my modified Rodent 6 which look's like my Ratmandu but on steroid's. I never tried Chili with maple syrup, but you made me hungry, next Afternoon Delight, definitly it's Chili with Maple Syrup. I did enjoy watching, Cheer's Jason. Dilly Dilly., , .p

Just maple syrup? That's funny because I keep olive oil in mine. I was thinking, "Why is he adding oil to chili?"
