Hacking Metasploitable Linux Vulnerability / Getting a Remote Shell / Getting Hashed Passwords

These videos are made for educational purposes for Ethical Penetration Testing. Using an intentionally vulnerable system, I show how to hack a system because of a single piece of software that is vulnerable. This leads to being able to get a shell on the remote system. From there, we grab a password hash and we are able to get two usernames and passwords from the system. This was done using Metasploitable 2 and Kali Linux. Do not attempt to do this on servers that you do not own. This is to demonstrate how systems can be tested against for these vulnerabilities.

hi ive just followed your steps and ran john --show shadow- but john was unable to break any of the hashes but it says it has 7 left to go ?.
