'I Want To Hold Your Hand' - Arduino Human Circuit

Inspired by a "hold hands" escape room puzzle, this tutorial video explains how to create an Arduino project in which, when any number of people join hands to connect two metal contacts, a circuit is completed which plays a song using a DFPlayer Mini MP3 module.

Thanks for the video, it was very informative. I’m using a DFPlayer and a pam8403 amp for a project which I initially had noise problems with because of the wiring between them. I found that getting them as close as possible solved the problem. Also I’m powering them both from the Arduino which doesn’t seem to be a problem. I am using screened wires for that though.
Thanks again. Your coding style is a lot more disciplined than mine. I’ve taken note! 👍🏾🤓

Okay...finally. I'm using 10uF capacitor, and it sort of works, takes 1, 5 seconds to get the voltage low enough, but works.

How could you do if you want to control a relay with the human circuit trigger? I love your idea! Thank you :)

Love this - do you think you could do a similar thing with two arduinos instead of one, allowing for a bit more distance on the items?

Thank you for the video. It is inspiring. Just a small doubt, is it not possible to achieve this using Makey Makey. Thanks in advance

Hi Alastair,
I would like to download Arduino code, wiring diagram, parts list and other resources. Where can I find these files please? thanks in advance!

Hey Alastair! I’m installing this puzzle but don’t know what to use for the metal bars. What metal did you use and how did you install it to make the handles?

Can you use an Arduino Uno for this project?

I love this and have had some success. The only problem I've had is that when I've put the smoothing capacitor in, my analog value starts at 0 and very very slowly rises up to 1024. I just omitted it before but now I'm getting a noisy signal that sometimes triggers when just one pipe is being held.

doesn't even work on the breadboard. I tried the same circuit, the same programing. So first of all, there is something wrong with the serial. in the schematic you are using pins 8 and 9, in the programming you are using 2 and 3 (i changed the connections to 2 and 3). then If i plug in the computer to try to debug, doesn't map the device on any com. if I remove the power from the dfplayer, then there is no issue and I can debug. but the serials don't seem to work in the same time. second, I am getting really noisy signals even if I touch one of the contacts.I am using a 100uF. on top of that touching both contacts doesn't make any difference. still getting the same noisy signal back to A0 ranging from 400 to 1024.maybe I am using a wrong capacitor? I tried 220uF Doesn't seem to make any difference

just hope you dont get a copyright strike!

Not working on me yet. I'm pretty sure, that it's not working, because the capacitor value is too big or too low. If i remove the capacitor, the value comes as it should be, but it's a little shaky.

what wire do you use to put in the metal bar to make a series?
