I have an interesting idea for the FA Trophy. I think we should keep the Scottish, Welsh, English and Irish leagues but have more cross border cups. Bring back the Anglo Scottish Cup or enter all Scottish Premiership sides that have not qualified for Europe plus all Scottish Championship sides and all Welsh Cymru Premier sides into the English non-league FA Trophy as invited teams. It would be great to have more cross-border matches. But keep our own leagues and European football.
A British League would be a logistical nightmare for some Scottish sides. But 5 to 6 cross border matches a season would be cool and nice and raise some great trips and banter. I would love my fave Scottish sides to play a nice number of English sides each season. A cross border cup would be cool.
The Scottish already have Welsh and Northern Irish sides in the Scottish Challenge Cup.
