Показать описание
Parts of the Heart.
The heart is a muscular organ roughly the size of a closed fist. It sits in the chest, slightly to the left of the center.
The heart pumps blood around the body. Carrying deoxygenated blood to the lungs where it loads up with oxygen.
The heart, blood, and blood vessels combined are referred to as the circulatory system.
The heart is made up of four chambers, the two upper chambers called the atria, receive blood, while the two lower chambers, referred to as the ventricles, discharge blood.
The right atrium receives deoxygenated blood from the body and passes the blood to the right ventricle, which pumps the blood through to the lungs.
The left atrium receives newly oxygenated blood, pushes the blood to the left ventricle, and then pumps it to the rest of the body.
The heart helps keep the blood oxygenated and circulating throughout your body and is crucial to our survival. That is why it's important to keep it healthy.
