My theory.














The exit way isn't to die, you can't die in something digital, you would most likely respawn. So my theory would be this.











A friend comes through the door and sees you with the headset- you in the real world, not the circus. They try everything but no response came. This is when they decided to break the headset, resulting in the digital circus fading in memory and coming back to normal.







What would happen in the circuses view?




The character who had achieved freedom would begin glitching out and would eventually teleport.







Where did the digital circus version go?

Heres my theory: So at the end of the episode " Pilot " when the camera zooms out even more, and when it got to the void it zooms out further until we see a computer. So Venturing far enough into the void may bring you back to the real world

And remember when Caine said " someone's venturing out into the void it'll get totally spoiled! "
