It's ironic that this game has amazing dialogue but sometimes conversations end in a very Bethesda way.

John when literally any random stranger walks up to him: Did you ever hear the tragedy of Arthur Morgan? It's not the kind of story the law would tell you.

I didn't think I'd like arthur. Weird how 40+ hours with a highly detailed character will change your mind.

Mentioning him would have only brought back memories of how Arthur didn't understand how fish respiratory systems work.

Arthur is the only game character ever that made me feel like I had lost a true life friend, I miss him to this day, and still think back on the time I spent with him, the good decisions I encouraged him to make, and the ultimate sacrifice he made for John and his family

Honestly Arthur comforting his dying horse hit me harder than his death, I kept the same horse all game man, it was like a dog to me.

It’s wild, I remember I wanted this ending so bad at the end of red dead 1. Just an infinite end game living happily with John’s family on the farm. But instead John dies and I just never really loved jack the same way. I found him jarring, even the way he talks to his horse I found less intimate and it made me want John back.
Then at the end of red dead 2 my wish finally came true but now all I can do is think about how much I miss Arthur. And the whole dream just kinda feels like a lie.
Bittersweet in the truest sense of the word.
