The Financial Planning Process at FMF

Do you know what the financial planning process is when working with an advisor? Well, that’s a trick question. There are about a million different ways that advisors can provide a financial plan to their clients (so, it’s OK if you didn’t know the answer).
Here is my process at Focused Mission Financial:
Step 1: A complementary 20-to-30-minute phone call to see if FMF is the right firm for you and that we can add value to your situation. If everything seems like a good fit, I’ll send over a proposal.
Step 2: After accepting the proposal, you’re officially a client! We then begin the Data Gathering and Discovery Phase of the process. This is where we dive into the details of your financial life to develop the assumptions for your plan and discuss your goals and financial aspirations.
Step 3: I crunch the numbers. After the analysis, you are given an easy to read and actionable list of recommendations.
Step 4: After you’ve had a chance to read and digest the list of recommendations, we get back together for the Final Review Meeting. My goal is for every client to understand the impact and reasoning behind the recommendations. This meeting serves as an opportunity to flush out any questions there might be.
Step 5: Lastly, you now have a trusted advisor on your team to help keep you on track to achieving your goals. We’ll connect periodically so that I can help keep you accountable as you are implementing the recommendations. You can also reach out if questions pop up down the road or if changes are needed to your financial plan.
