This is an excellent interview. I am delighted the presenter permitted the expert, Mr. Drougos, to develop his points without interruptions. I disagree strongly with the perception of Mr. Drougos that the USA is disposed favorably towards Turkey. On the contrary, the USA has written off Turkey as an ally because of Turkey’s challenge to USA policy in Africa, in the Middle East, in the Eastern Mediterranean and in the Central Asian region. I believe, a point that needed to be made is that the USA policy towards Turkey changed effectively in 2016 when the USA tacitly agreed to the formation of a free Kurdistan. As for the perception of Turkey by USA policy makers, there is distrust and alienation prompted by Turkey’s regional power maker interests. USA policy begun changing slowly disfavoring Turkey about ten years ago. It is unlikely to consider a reversal of US policy towards Turkey, at least not for the next 20 years.
