What makes Once Upon a Time in the West so great, is its script. The cross and double cross, combined with the unparalleled cynicism of all the characters...awesome. Henry Fonda playing against type works so well. I generally avoid Westerns, but there's something about this movie that elevates it to art.

Tropic Thunder is a must-see. I remember when I saw it the first time. I had no idea that was Tom Cruise until the credits rolled. Tom's character was absolutely HILARIOUS and I just can't get enough of the dance scene. Pure classic.

It’s almost 4 am, just finished watching Once Upon a time in the west, when it finished my hubby and I said at unison “they don’t make movies like that anymore! I love the timing on the faces between Bronson and Fonda, not many words, the eyes say everything and the music by Enio Morricone, beautiful.!!

Couldn't agree more on ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’ being the best Western ever and on the opening scene. Then there's the soundtrack by Ennio, the casting, the dust, the flies...
Visiting the scenery they build for the movie in the desert in Spain is still on my bucket list.

Apollo 13 and Once Upon A Time In The West are top notch movies. However, my all time favourite western is The Outlaw Jose Wales. It runs roughly 2 hours, but you get about 3 hours of story in the movie without it ever feeling rushed.

So many said it, but still, I had to say it again - but Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod (German title: Play me the ballad of death) is just brilliant! Everything, with Mr. Morricone’s score to top it all off. The final duel - the cut to the eyes - I have seen this scene in a cinema, that is just breathtaking - literally.

Even though ‘The Good, The Bad & The Ugly’ always gets the most shine, ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’ is Sergio Leone’s masterpiece.
