Stasis rifles don’t COMPLETELY freeze things, just disables their swimming. A reaper ate me when I tried to scan him after freezing him with a stasis rifle, and ghost leviathans can curl up and strike like irl snakes, it may reach you before you can load a full charge.

Hey where did you find the ghost Leviathan? If it's in the lost river, don't worry because the ghost Leviathan there is not too aggressive because it's still a teenager.
But in the crate egg biome it is more dangerous because it is an adult.
But if you want something more challenging, there is the Leviathan ghost in the dead zone or the void.
