Thanks woody, cause this video really touched home. I taught Physical Education for a few years in New York and then got excessed cause of budget cuts. Now I'm in property management in NYC. No, it's not my "dream job" but it's my career now cause I need to do what I have to do to provide and will make the most of it. This is the first time I've seen you make a vide addressing this topic of not everyone doing their dream job. I'm one of your adult viewers and this really touched home :)

That "live in the moment" and follow your passion mentality is great for a young person with little familial connection. I am family man, I have my family, and I know for a fact that I could not do that. My writing could never pay the bills right now. So safety in a boring, well paying and dull job is necessary for a family.

I respect you so much Woody. Its nice to have a family guy on here who can still be funny and cool with us "young gen". I hope you and your family have the best future you can possibly have.

Yep, I agree. I live in Norway, but Norway and Sweden does a lot of the same things. I like the way thing works here than in US

It's a youtube bug. Interacting with subs via comments is putting videos at the top of the list even though, "Show Uploads Only" is checked. They'll probably have it fixed soon. Either way, it's not going to stop me from talking to my viewers.

Sea Nanners' video was a very noble way to think about life and how money relates to it. It's also a very young bachelor way of thinking as well. It sounds perfectly feasible and acceptable when it's just you you're thinking about... but once you start throwing in a spouse and children and/or any other dependents... that noble way of thinking goes out the window. Now you've gone from being self-sufficient to being a provider to others. That will change your outlook on money and jobs quickly.

Growing up all I wanted was a ton of money. As I grew older all I want now is to be with someone to grow old with, have friends and close family. Money isn't so much at the top of my list. I will do my best to make as much as I can to buy the necessary things in life but that is now what I will base my happiness off of.

Thank you for understanding these are opinions. No system is perfect so it is up to the people's preference how do deal with issues such as these. The main problem I have is (like I said before) the fact I am stuck paying for others bills and expenses. Security is nice, but it is my opinion that if people are smart with what they have they will get through life and not have to rely on the government.

I dont wash my car either. I do keep my whitewalls clean though. Probably once a week I go and sponge them off real quick. It usually rains enough to keep the rest of it clean anyway.

And its totally true, man. When youre alone or its just you and a spouse, doing what you love is fine. But especially with kids, you gotta do what gets you the money you need. My friend's got a little boy and it's been a learning experience. You want to give him the world. Unfortunately, that costs money.

Being new to the post-college adult life, I definitely benefit from your "old man wisdom" videos and videos like this. Keep up the great videos Woody!

Well Woody, I don't know if you'll get to see this or what, but it's true. Money doesn't bring happiness, but it is needed for life to continue going. Every bodies situation is different though, not everybody has the opportunity to quit their job and go off and do other stuff, and I'm glad you brought up the stuff about your son, because there are a lot of people who deal with that in their lives. Hopefully people watching this will take the insight and run with it.

thats exactly what my dad does, not a lot of money because he cares, he cares about me and my family, and thats why i love him.

I don't know why people have that perception. If you're a responsible person, you have health insurance. You can pay a small deductible to get state sponsored/national health care coverage or have private insurance through your job. There's even discounts for college students.

The only people that have health care problems are those that are irresponsible and don't proactively handle it.

I haven't really kept track of this whole youtube money thing recently, but from what I can tell there are a bunch of people from Machinima who signed contracts and now are unhappy with said contract...If you sign something, you're obligated to honor it, that's how it works.

At the end of the day these people are getting paid to play video games. I realize there's work involved other than gaming, but life could be much worse regardless. People need to appreciate what they have, and grow up.

This recession has crushed alot of hopes and dreams including my own. I went to school and got a master's degree in an engineering field. Everyone told me going in that they were in high demand and I would get a great job...6 years later and an economy in the crapper, I am working at a grocery store with no chance at happiness. Don't go to college. It just isn't worth it anymore. Consider other options.

Great video Woody. Where I'm from we would call this video "real talk". Truth hurts, but sometimes you have to face the pain. Money rules everything on this earth.
