Making a lofi hiphop beat from scratch with the Boss SP303

Welcome back to SPVIDZ. In this video I make a quick lofi beat using only the Boss SP303. I've not used this box enough since getting it so have decided I'll be doing some more content around it over the next few weeks. I've added in some titles to help you guys understand what I'm doing. tip: you can press remain + mfx button to apply effect on all pads at once just like on the 404.

The 505 & 606 workflow involves a lot of menu diving, but it's not too bad. I plan on getting another 404SX eventually. The ideas would flow like water with it. If i then put those ideas on the 606, I can do mute group stuff, 2 fx, mastering & D-Beam.

That piano is sick dude, reminds me of silent hill. Do you dedicate a lot of time listening to records? I’m finding that the poor choices in records I’ve made has pushed me away from them. Have you gone through a similar learning curve? Any tips? Thrift stores are really hit or miss, and record stores just seem overwhelming, if that makes sense. I think efficiency would be my goal, if I had to break it down. And I feel like I’m finding more and more duds lately.
