Finding an Abandoned Ghost Town in the Nevada Desert | Part One

During this Overland trip, Burning Man was in full force as 100,000 people flocked to the Nevada Playa. That said: you won't find me there. I was 100 miles east in search of abandoned ghost towns and gold mines as relics of the Comstock Lode era in the Nevada desert.

This Overland expedition ended up being way more involved than I ever thought, but exploring along the "Loneliest Highway in America" on the old Pony Express route and Lincoln Highway was absolutely epic. It's one thing to read about history in some textbook, it's entirely different experience to re-live it. Together with my Jeep and "Nevada Ghost Towns & Mining Camps" by Stanley Paher, I setout to explore the American West.

Standby for Part Two!

This was so awesome to watch! Dang - I want to see Wonder; and … now I want to go there 💯 great video, felt like combo Rhino Offroad / Coyote Works style. Loved the intro - pure 🔥

Great video. BTW, at the 23:30 mark, that "screen thing" appears to be what is left of an "old" type filter insert. I've dealt with late 1950's heavy equipment that have cartridge type filters where the screen goes inside the filter element itself. Usually the screen portion has a gasket on the top and bottom to prevent fluid bypass once bolted back into place. Real common with the older hydraulic, transmission and engine oil filter setups of the day.

I like it, you have some good camera shots too. It wasn’t the standard Overlanding vid full of hype and BS or the sleepy boring ones where I start to watch then wake up on the couch and there is a totally different vid playing 😂.
