Regular Motorcycle Reviews: 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 (better than R6)

This is MY OPINION of why I think the Yamaha FZ/MT-07 is a better buy than MOST 600cc sport-bikes (especially a R6). By no means is this video meant to trash R6’s or anyone that rides them, I just really think FZ07’s are a great bang for your buck motorcycle that offer really good performance, comfort, and reliability for less than pretty much all of the new sport bikes.
.
I made a couple comments throughout the video almost making it seem like the FZ-07 is a slow motorcycle when that’s far from the truth. They are VERY QUICK motorcycles (from 0-100MPH), I will note that they tend to fall on their faces after 100MPH until they reach their top speed of around 135. The bottom line is… they aren’t the fastest options out there. I really like how usable the power is and that in itself is the reason why it such a fun bike to ride on the street. One of the problems with modern sport bike culture is that a large majority of riders end up getting a motorcycle that’s too fast to the point that they aren’t cable of using the bike to it’s full potential, I feel like the FZ-07 is close to a perfect balance and really gives you the chance to ride it to its full capability.
.
The brakes really aren’t that bad either, it has more than sufficient stopping power. The suspension could be better, but for a lot of riders it will be more than enough to get them started.
.
Pros:
• Very usable power
• Awesome exhaust note
• Fairly comfortable (compared to sport bikes)
• Aesthetically good looking
• Very cost effective
• Reliable
• Easy to work on
• Great bike for wheelies
Cons:
• Falls on face after 100MPH
• Underwhelming suspension
• Spongy front brakes
• Rubber mounted handlebars (back and forth play)
• Feels “cheap”

really good video man. just started riding a few months ago on fz07 and the daily rides to and from work make my days. I also got a m4 exhaust and now I just rev it high all the time for the pops. gonna start trying to wheelie soon. do you think since the suspension is soft its easier on the forks for wheelies?

The cartridge kits are very expensive. Check out Dave Moss tuning videos on fixing the forks. I did exactly what he said to do and now I have suspension that works very well. Only cost is a bottle of bell ray fork oil. Well, I did buy some one inch pvc so I didn't have to cut the stock preload spacers.

Can you make a video on how to start doing wheelies? I’m COMPLETELY new and this is my first bike (15FZ07) and I am too nervous to do clutch wheelies (not sure I understand how even after watching the videos others have made) so I do power wheelies and even then I SUCK. Easy in first and second, easier in first but I prefer 2nd. Usually only get the wheel up a bit and throttle through it going 40-60 sometimes it goes too high and I freak out and don’t set it down gently.. it’s like as soon as it comes up I pull myself up towards the tank, slam my nuts (while it’s up!) then get a cherry on top when it comes down with an extra nut slap.

I have that exact same bike. A white 2015 FZ07 with a full M4 system. I just wanted to ask if you tuned it for the pipe or if you just through the pipe on there? Also, any tire recommendations?
