Some people aren’t happy unless they are complaining.

As a Gold Star family, we salute Lt Col Harvey, and all have served and made the ultimate sacrifice.

There was a service dog on Equinox last week and was better behaved then some passengers. No problem in allowing service and drug sniffing dogs.

I would think having the dog onboard at a distance would be no more dander than all the dog owners already onboard surrounding you with all their clothes, shoes, bags, etc. Pet dander definitely stays on people.

I’m allergic to idiots, unfortunately there’s nothing I can do about it.

As long as it’s NOT a fake service animal, I do not have an issue.
As a matter of fact just last weekend, a person had his “service” dog in the grocery store. This dog did try to come of to me which totally freaked me out. I have a horrible fear of large dogs and this dog coming at me was not a good thing for me.
A true service dog would have never left his owners side.

I was on a cruise a couple years ago and a woman had her "service dog" in a stroller the entire time. I realize legit service dogs come in all shapes and sizes but I never heard of one that needed to be pushed around like a human baby.

That's an excellent way to honor our servicemen, and to live to 100 at that. Congrats and Happy Birthday Sir, and thank you Princess for honoring this Brave man.

100 years old! Wow, such an impressive life. So nice to see Princess honoring him along with the contributions of the Tuskegee Airmen.

Hi Tony On the topic of service dogs. We were on the Ovation of the Seas From Hawaii to Vancouver May 2 - 9th There was a service dog on board great no problem was for the guy in a motorized scooter his wife usually was walking the dog. One afternoon were were walking down on deck 5 towards the pizza place. The dog just started to go plunking a surprise on the floor the lady kept walking until another passenger told her her dog should be picked up after. I thought accidents do happen no big deal. Next day was on deck 12 walking track and behold a pile lying there no one picked it up no one around. My thoughts if you need a service dog at least properly look after its bathroom needs. So with that there are plus and minuses.

Another cruise line that I am very familiar with maintains a small number of pet free cabins in each category. These cabins are NEVER used for service dogs, and in addition receive special "allergy cleaning" between cruises and during the cruise. Bottom line, the ships must comply with ADA regulations which means service dogs are permitted on ships. A person with animal allergies should request a cabin with "allergy cleaning" and plan to take allergy meds if necessary. Unless you find a line that doesn't cruise out of the US, there will not be an animal free line. It is a lot of effort to take a service animal on a cruise as the animal must be "Pre-cleared" at each port that the cruise stops at prior to embarkation. And the cruise lines know the difference between service animals and ESAs and strictly do not allow ESAs.

We went on the Snake River Cruise on American Cruise. Heres whats amazing and great… any friends at any port (remember this is in the USA) can board the ship as your guests for lunch or dinner for FREE. Huge perk no other cruise ship has. Statesrooms are larger and happy hour is great. Onboard entertainment is MEH, not good. But the excursions are awesome, one easy fun way to explore the USA rivers. Don’t even consider it with kids or anyone under 50, much older croud.

Service dogs go in restaurants stores doc offices so why not on a cruise ship. The person probably goes in all those places.

Thank you to Lt Col world needs more men/women just like you. As far as the dog allergies goes, I have no issue with allergies, however, I have relatives that do. While they can obviously stay their distance from them, what about the rooms where the dogs are allowed to stay? These people that I know become extremely ill when in a room with animals. I highly doubt the rooms are cleaned to the extent that danger would be removed. The dogs would likely even sleep on the beds!!! That said, again, I have no issues with it, just looking at it from the standpoint of someone who could be placed in one of these staterooms where dogs were.

I am deathly allergic to dogs and have been in the presence of many service dogs. Never got close enough to have a reaction. The dogs are working, they arent looking to play with the passengers. In fact, you are not supposed to approach a service dog while its working.

If the woman has a dog allergy she should select another cruise line. The dogs wouldn't be on board if passengers would follow rules.
