I don’t consider Polygon “budget”. I think they just are not boutique and actually appreciate their customers. More bargain than budget… I mean they are throwing quality components on a quality frame. 😊
My plan is to get a Siskiu or maybe the Collosus…love me some eMTBs.
Good video that bike is badass…not feeling the color but I like that you like it.

2:39 That cassette performs well. I've even torture tested it under load, it did not jam up, nothing bent. Only con is it's around 600 G so super heavy. If you want a light upgrade I recommend Garbaruk.

5:24 Those tyres are for the nastiest of mud conditions and big wet roots. Grip being the priority. so the big spacing, sharp and tall knobs will result in a very slow tyre. This tyre looks like it would corner well too, not be too twitchy unlike Maxxis, but I've not tried them. But these are overkill and will slow you down a lot, unless you have sticky mud, big wet roots on most trails.
Closer and smaller centre knobs while keeping the side knobs would make a great tyre. I have something like that, Michelin Wild Enduro. But 'm keen to try Schwalbe tyres too.

Budget? For 42 grand? A budget bike? So basically, YouTube MTB video reviews(mostly lame videos by those that receive free stuff), are by those that either get free stuff, or have one hell of a income. Any bike shop, within thirty miles of me is outta business due to no-one wanting to spend more than a few hundred on a bicycle. And consider that this very Polygon bike, probably cost less than four-hundred, to manufacture. The frame: less than a hundred. It's aluminum. Figure a soda can cost about a penny. Do the math.

For all those upgrades, I would rather get the N7 and swap some of my parts on to it.

Heavy wheels is usually due to an cup and cone hub, outdated design, also heavy duty gravity rims. but rim it self won't make much of a weight difference, I rather have a rim that can handle massive abuse, yes those tyres are overkill, more of a muddy condition tyre. They will roll horribly. These tyres are for the nastiest conditions, which is overkill if you don't have that. But will be great on heavy sticky muddy trails with many big wet roots, the big centre spacing will help the tyres to hook on the roots. Of course there's a certain point where no amount of spacing will help. Then it's walking time. So optimising the set up for just one steep trail with big wet roots is pointless. Where I live I don't get that nasty mud, I do well with Michelin Wild Enduro, fast rolling centre knobs, but still beefy side knobs with massive spacing so sheds mud well.Great compromise. Not really a compromise for conditions where I ride. here it's tyre like this then studded tyres.
