This Framus is flat-out fantastic in every way. The set neck angle is perfect, action currently sits right above the 1st fret to 3/32” 12th and can go higher or lower. The truss adjustment works. It intonates well with the floating bridge and all notes sing perfectly over the entire course of the neck. There are two caps activated by the various tone selector positions allowing for muted treble, rolled off bass and stages in between. The pickup selectors are all off 0, Pickup I, II or III individually or the combination of I+III (switch indicator nomenclature) and there is a master volume. The electronics are quiet and clean and function 100% accurately. This model is ingenious and shows how Framus stood out as an innovator in vintage guitar design.
Recording Notes: 1963 Framus Strato 5/154-54 straight to a factory stock 1962 Fender Princeton amplifier using Shure SM57 and Royer 101 microphones as well as a ZOOM Stereo Array for room tone.
