Aaron gets some hands-on time with the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. Featuring a 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, the mini packs a 4.3-inch qHD display (540x960 pixels), 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording, 1,900 mAh battery, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz. It's a compelling alternative for those that love the Galaxy S 4 but don't want to deal with the added size. While it loses some of the high-end specs like the quad-core CPU and 1080p HD display, it's much easier to manage on the size front.

I'm like Samsung and use an S3 but I feel as though they are turning in HTC from a couple of years back, releasing phones left, right & center with very similar specs.

i love my Note II, cant never go back to smaller screens now :D

I think it will work for a lot of people some don't like screens larger than 4.3 and the resolution is fine for that size 1080 is over kill on any phone 720 is more than enough

This phone is going to sell as well to for those that cant buy or doesnt want the s4. Not a bad phone honestly

I wonder how good the battery life is? The mini isn't such a big step down it comes with decent hardware & software.

The S4 Mini should of had a proper display and a better PPI. It probably would of been a threat to the nexus 4

Who really wants a smaller version of the S4 with lower specs. I doubt if hardly anyone buys this phone.

umm lots of people such as myself who feel 5-inch phones are too bulky. the s4 mini is not only smaller but only 107 grams light, super pocketable!

hardly anyone will buy this phone? i think samsung knows what they're doing, they're not in the losing-money business.

Jelly bean does not fix any lag or bugs. Its simply throughout Android and the S4 is a new phone, meaning it can only go so far. Your friend will start getting the lag and bugs in a few months. And Android phones that are new in 2013 are still laggy and unstable..

That's not the point of them. The S4 is in the name only because it's a recognised brand. This isn't a downgraded S4 at all - it's a cheaper, smaller smartphone. It isn't meant to be an alternative to the S4, just a little better and more expensive than the Galaxy Ace range.

In short, it's a midrange smartphone, not a smaller S4, but they use S4 in the name because it's a good name.
