Nickel Hunt and Album Fill #102 - Upgrades and Additions
I've decided to try and complete the second nickel coin roll hunting series books to see how many bank boxes it takes to fill the entire Dansco Album for Nickels dated 1938-1998. There are 136 slots to fill in Series 2 Books and the mission is to BEAT the 167 boxes it took for Series 1.
This is part 102 of the series (Box 76 for Series 2) and I do plan on updating it from each nickel box I hunt from this point forward until the nickel coin collection is completed! It may be a little tougher due to the sheer amount of uncirculated nickel boxes we keep getting but I will keep trying!
Can We Find them? That elusive 1950 D Nickel and the tough 1939 S Nickel?

FYI - The Dansco Album does not have spots for some coins but we'll be hunting these boxes of nickels for Silver Nickels, Buffalo Nickels, Proof coins, Old Jefferson Nickels (namely semi-key and key date nickels), Liberty V Nickels and 2009's for their low mintage.
Let's keep our fingers crossed and our eyes open for some valuable Nickels!

My 13yr old got two boxes of nickels yesterday and for the first time since he started hunting, he found 4 buffalos and 4 war nickels plus a bunch of 50s and 60s in really good shape.

My son and I picked up a nickel box at my bank today and we did a box battle, 25 rolls each. Aside from the usual mix of 40s and 50s my rolls had a 1955 and a beautiful 1992-S proof, while Connor's rolls had a 1938 and a 1942-P silver nickel. It was our first box hunt since Covid, so we had a good time!

I looked through 30 rolls recently and the best thing i found was a 1938-D, but I also found a 52-S and a 58-P which was very exciting. Then I found a 44-D and a 49-D. I needed all 5 of those for my book. Nickels are the most fun to hunt imo :)

That was a nice box! I'm looking forward to the end of the month, when I have my vacation. I intend on buying 5 boxes of nickels, and 2 boxes of quarters to hunt. I've currently only hunted pennies and halves. 10, 000 nickels sounds very daunting lol

Great video Rob. I'm STILL stuck on needing 2...39s & 44s.. last nickel box I had was an uncirculated box of 2022D, which is odd for my area seeing I live in Florida!!
