I found your technique to be very original and the final result is a lovely addition. I have a painting I'm working on and the background has some spots with thin paint. I'm going to try the lights from behind the canvas and see what that result looks like. Thank you for sharing your technique. I am so sorry for your loss, I too find that painting is providing me with healing on many many levels, I am glad it is helping you also.
