I started otr with cfi, (started local before them for a few months but didnt like it) and they treat you good. I was never pushed into driving illegal which is a great thing because ive heard horror stories from other mega carrier dispatchers where if you dont run illegal on your hours then dispatch will put on your record "truck abandonement" which is a career killer for the driver but i never had an issue with cfi about that. Worked there for a 1 year but it was very pleasant to work there. Great terminals too

If anyone wants to see how to un-grease a fifth wheel, come to my workplace and watch some drivers hook up without lowering airbags or raising the trailer lol. Then watch them stuff up the landing gear by doing tug tests while the legs are still touching the ground. 🤣

That is not right actually you grease above the lip in the valley you do this with a plastic troll the low part is where the excess grease goes if done right witch should be kept clean as possible to prevent dirt from getting in the jaws also take the troll and clean excess grease around the edge of the 5th wheel keeps grease off the driver and wipe fittings off before and after greasing do not over grease grease attracts dirt dirt ruins parts wipe all excess grease off and hey I'm looking for a job been wrenching for 20 years but I'm older 56 years old just wanted to do service's brakes wheel seals airbags things like that NO W I R E S Not even a marker light don't do wires I worked at Sioux city Peterbilt for years then they forgot I don't do wires lol I can do a little wireing just can't stand it

I used to use my grandpa and his over the road long distance hauling truck all summer during summer breaks from school from grade 1 until I graduate high school It was a blast and I've learned how to grease his fifth wheel for and when I was only the second grade I was crucing the fifth wheel for him and I enjoyed doing it as a little kid because I like getting grease out of my hands with the gloves on so it was like playing but he let me grease he taught me how to grease the fifth wheel when I was in the first grade and I was doing it by myself by the time I was in the second grade without making a huge mess I learned a lot of maintenance on 18 wheelers too I should have became a truck driver but I didn't I became a diesel mechanic instead. I sent this vodeo to a apprentice that im training sorry for misspelling in using talk to text its eaier since my hands are ate up with severe arthritis. Everything I teach my aprentis I send him videos about that subject first so he is familiar with it by the time he has to perform that task the next day. I let him do the work and teaching him the right way to do stuff and videos are easier since I'm not the greatest teacher I'm more like watch me then repeat type teacher
