Actually the very first and original Hard Rock Cafe opened in the 1930's in LA . It was made famous by the Doors album Morrison Hotel and its how The Hard Rock Cafe restaurant chain we know today got its name.

When I first went to HRC many years ago in 42st Times Square, the menu was huge, had a great selection of food and portions were quite large. There was stand up comedy and live performances going on in the stage area. Big plus for the variety of deserts that I found on the menu too. The staff had the whole rock and roll fashion style going on, a waitress attended me that last time many years ago and she ROCKED it was my bday and she was loud and told everyone it was my bday and she and a few staff sang happy bday, the whole restaurant stood up loudly singing too and cheerful WOW, they looked the part because of that and it added to the environment. Fast forward to today and there are never any performances in this location anyways, the menu is just as small or smaller than at Applebee’s, I looked around and found people eating the same things, the staff wear black button shirts with black slacks, looking like any other waiter, I had a great guy serving my table on my date the last time I went, he went on break or home during my meal and someone else came and had some jealous ego attitude, some insecure kid. I nearly put him in his place in front of everyone, but whatever I didn’t want to ruin my time looking in my girls eyes. He ended up getting the minimum tip from me at the end which was still $15.36. Not bad, no wonder he didn’t respect or feel like he needed to earn his tip. The people weren’t into it, when someone’s bday was acknowledged and sang, no one even so much as payed any mind really. And just a small few looked and clapped a bit. Just a different environment and menu, that doesn’t live up to its grand opening and early years in Times Square.

I work at Hard Rock Cafe Louisville KY. Not all these things are true. I also give our memorabilia tour. Eric Clapton gave his guitar to the original London location in Hyde Park to reserve his bar stool. The next week they got Pete Townsend's guitar in the mail with a note saying, "Mines as good as his." Next incorrect fact. Paul McCartney and Wings debuted in 1972. Facts. It's in our training booklet.

I haven't been there since 2016, and it was the DC location. However would love to go to one again, they have a lot of good options for my picky tastebuds. Maybe not going all the way to DC for it though lol.

As one of the original staff at the Houston Hard Rock, opened in 1986, I'm astonished that at 1:05 in the video, the discussion about the sale of the Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas mentions "In fact, it was sold by 'a Mr. Peter Morton'....", like Peter was just "some guy" who sold the hotel. Do the producers of this video not KNOW that he was one of the two original owners/founders of the Hard Rock Cafe? Who did the research for this? It's humorous, but also incredible that in this day of the internet, the producers couldn't find out who Peter Morton is in relation to the Hard Rock.

One of my worst restaurant experiences was at the hard rock in Washington DC. We went one night and the shitty server took 30 min to bring us menus then told us they’re “out of protein, no meats”, so we went back the next day and with my party of 4, none of our food came out together and when it did come items were messed up and cold…

Hard Rock Cafe was the thing I wanted to do in DC! My friends never been to a Hard Rock Cafe before, and I doubt they’d ever go again.
