Absolute glazing over the reality of what occurred in the lead up to Feb 22’. Including not going into detail about Russia’s security proposal and how the US reject a collective EU/Russia security framework and told Russia that NATO expansion is none of Russia’s concerns. Note Lavrov’s comment about this in the months prior to the war

There was not much effort from the western countries because Putin’s conditions were to roll back NATO to 1991 which nobody’s going to do it anyway and Putin knew it. One thing he didn’t know is that Ukraine has couple of Javelins and Stingers. From the beginning it’s pure improvisation from both sides
