As someone who worked at a hotel, please say you are using points right away. I have booked many appointments with people who thought they were using their points (we weren't a main branch hotel so they could not book with points with us directly) and then got mad their card was charged in the morning after I told them how much the rate was and they didn't bother to properly check out because they thought it was free.

The card I used was the Bilt MasterCard. Transferred points to American Airlines. And booked for a flight on Japan Airlines metal using American Airlines points. Other options are just getting a Citi AA card personal and business

Well, you had to spend $70k in rent to get that flight. Most people probably spend less than $24k in rent a year, meaning it would take almost 3 years of saving points to get that flight. That's probably not worth it.
