How Many Squares - SOLVED 2 (no rectangles)

This is an updated version of the other Solved Squares Puzzle video that I did. So many people were having trouble with the part where the red highlights rows of squares, so I did a new video with no "rectangles"! Hopefully less confusing.

I wasn't confused by the last one, however taking the time to redo it to show the rectangle crowd the error of their ways, AWESOME! Good work dude.

Thanks! It was just something I had done for fun. Thought this one would clear it up a little bit.

a square in a nxn figure, area of a square describes how many squares fit within a nxn shape a square with a length of 4 and a width of 4 is 16 (insert metric)^2 so the area of a 4x4 is composed of 16 squares to find the total amount of squares that can be composed with that area just step backwards through the the area of the other squares.

Example: area of a 4x4+3x3+2x2+1x1 = 30, area of the two small 2x2 is (2x2 + 1x1) x 2, so 30+5+5 = 40 squares.

Pretty much that is what is being shown through the highlighting of the squares in the video. This could even work if you were say trying to amount the amount of squares in a rectangle. a 4x3 rectangle would have 12 + 9 + 4 +1 = 26 squares the reason we multiply the 4 x 3 despite it not being a square is because the area describes how many squares fit in the 4x3 figure which is 12 then we continue as normal finding the other squares.

bradb725: It seems that you create the confusion in your last solution on purpose, just for fun, isn't it?
You clever guy! Thanks.

Less confusing than the older version of this.

I see no squares, only RECTANGLES.  Squares have equal length sides.  The images above are not squares.  DUH
