So for anyone wondering, many VR games don't look the best right now because they're limited by quest 2 hardware which runs off of one of the fastest mobile chips at the moment, but yeah, it's still a phone processor. When in VR some of these graphics are fine because being fully immersed in the world is still cool, but who the hell wants to be in Facebook horizons, especially when the graphics are THIS BAD.

The Metaverse looks like a worse version of Gmod.
Think about it, you can practically create anything in Gmod, any object or location or person, and you're able to do that with a version of the Source Engine that came out in 2013.
You are able to make more prettier and interesting and fun things with an outdated game engine from 2013 than Facebook is able to with their billions of dollars and modern tech.

Even IF some kind of metaverse is the future of the internet, companies don’t have the infrastructure and sociological knowhow (Facebook probably like to think they do bc they steal everyone’s data) to make it the immersive and universal experience it deserves to be. The internet at a functional level isn’t broken and doesn’t need fixing, companies like Facebook are just rushing the process to lead the charge and make more money.

As a frequent vr user, horizon worlds is basically a knock off of rec room, the only difference is that rec room doesn't try and be realistic. Meta should stick to what they are good for wich is hardware. The quest 2 is the perfect entry level vr device and has tons of third party accessories that make the experience even better. But they dont understand thier audience. The quest 2 wich is thier current flagship headset is mostly used by children and teenagers who dont care about social interaction and would rather play games like gorilla tag, echo arena and beat saber. And for those who do care about social interaction there is always vrchat which, dispite recent controversy is still a great game.
