A critique of Union Budget 2021-22 ( A comprehensive analysis of Budget ). The budget was not in anyway a 'never before' budget. The very size of the budget has been shrinking over the years, in the background of the excessive governmental concern for the fiscal deficit, an offshoot of the 1990s' neoliberal economic policies. Unfortunately no change in the approach is observable after the 'once in a century' catastrophe - the Covid Pandemic. Due to limiting the government spending, the allocations for various sectors did not commensurate with their need. Add to this, the proposed large scale privatization of the public sector concerns and the approach to meet the budget expenditure through selling the government stake in the public sector are likely to harm the public interest. The video focuses on the trends and the government's approach as observable in this budget.
