Somehow it triggers me that they translated "Wiedersehen macht Freude" to "make sure to give it back" ... way too harsh for lit. "seeing (it) again makes/creats joy"

I'm Austrian, not German but most of the things listed here are very true to us too. For example tap water in Austria and Germany is one of the best in the world. Some restaurants give you tapwater with exchange, some bottles with still water.
Also in Austria most gasstations on the highway demand 50 Cent; most restrooms in bigger shopping centers are free. Not all, but most. So having cents in your pocket are important because you don't know when you need them 😅
