Hi,
My son has recently passed assessment, so some advice from that experience.
1. Get your ears checked BEFORE you go. A couple of lads were told they needed to get their ears syringed and a letter signed by their GP before they would get a start date.
2, .Get all you medical history checked out with your GP for any missing notes My son was born in Spain and we have had to get a Spanish solicitor to do the forms to get his history there. Still waiting! But luckily I had kept copies of a lot of medical letters and notes which were acceptable. He is however waiting on a missing page of notes from when he had his tonsils out nearly twenty years ago in the UK! The army is paying a lot of money to train you, so they really want a full medical history.
We have begun to watch most of your videos and the information is invaluable.

Got denied 3 times wasted 6 years trying.
First was on me I was 2kg over my height:weight limit and was never taught how to lose it but still passed the aptitude and physical tests.

Second I was told they'd filled their quota for the year but knowing this still let me go through all the testing and interviews...
Last exit interview I was told that because I didn't wear a suit jacket on the hottest day of the year I wasn't being considered despite acing my aptitude and physical tests.

Only one of my family in 1500 years that couldn't get in to the armed forces and the regret has haunted me to this day.
Went on to be an MoD building contractor because I love being on base and interacting with our forces personnel but still would've loved the opportunity, I spent 5 years in cadets and thrived in that environment.

I did all my research, and the interview wasn't assessed; 3 years after this video to be fair. It was treat as more of a review and whether I had any queries.

This would have been helpful back in 2002 when I did pre-RCB then RCB. Back then though we just figured it out. If I’d had this though I would have used it for sure. From my initial interview to walking through Old College gates took me almost exactly 6 months. Started Jan 6th 2003. Commissioned Dec 2003…think it was Dec 13th.

Hi bud. Thanks for the vid. Very helpful. Just starting to prepare myself for the assessment. I’m just not to sure how to dress for the interview. Is like trousers, shirt and tie smart enough or would you recommend a full suit? Thank you mate.

Hello ! Great video, I’ve got my assessment in March, hopefully I’ll get in for Military Intelligence. I was wondering if you could do a video for things that might pop up in the interview for intelligence? Or have you got some tips for me ?! I’m nervous 😂

Good morning/afternoon or evening. I would like to say that this video has helped me to understand what a process it takes to complete. I have already planned out a career for myself, and I am only 13 years old. I have been wondering, if I joined the British army, would a degree such as Chemical Engineering or anything identical to this be any use? I do sometimes worry if this is a correct choice that I am making. Should I talk to my career advisor about this and discuss further planning towards the Army? Would you Military Fitness have any advice for me that I may be one step closer to achieving my goal? If so, that would be great to know. If not, thats fine. I do understand that I have a while to decide whether this will be my final career that I wish I want to do. I have also signed up to Army cadets if that is any better. I personally enjoy spending time with others and work as a team when it comes to drill and much more. I hope to hearing a response from you.

Joined Army 1980. Walked in to careers centre. She asked Why you here. Replied want to join up. Royal Anglian Regiment if possible. Forms filled out tests passed then weekend at Harrogate
Fully understand the new procedures but just wonder if this puts off some young ones. Just a thought.

I'm 28 years young and applying to the british army in March or April this year, and really excited to do so. Can someone tell me if the british army still put individuals through a driving test if one doesnt currently have one ? Any info is greatly appreciated.
