It was January 1965 when I first heard Winter. My uncle was 2nd violin for a major symphony orchestra and it was his annual winter break. It had recently snowed and the night before we had freezing rain so the world was a giant white crystal. I was outside and my uncle was on the porch over looking the back yard and he played Winter for me as I slid all around the back yard in my galoshes and snow suit. Every time I hear Winter I flash back to that time 58 years ago.
